About 14-hundred Kellogg’s workers in four states walked off the job in October. . . protesting what they called long work hours and a two-tier wage system.
The new…five-year contract keeps the two-tier system.
But the head of the union local in Kellogg’s Battle Creek headquarters – Trevor Bidelman – says members’ objections softened…after the company vowed keep cereal on store shelves…by using permanent replacement workers.
“That is the single biggest issue that we have as far as the threat and the scare…the fear…really…that people had.”
Numerous politicians….including President Biden…described the idea of Kellogg’s replacing union workers deeply troubling.
