Kentwood City Commission race: Incumbent falls as two challengers will square off in November

In the race for Kentwood’s City Commission in the 2^nd Ward, incumbent Tom McKelvey lost in Tuesday’s primary to challengers Jessica Ann Tyson and Dan VanderMolen.

Tyson received the most support at roughly 43% of votes cast, but did not garner over 50---meaning, she and VanderMolen will face each other in a runoff in November to represent Kentwood’s eastern half.
