Miami based saxophonist Carlos Vega has a new recording out with a group of seasoned Chicago musicians on the album "Bird's Up".  They mine the modern jazz tradition of Art Blakey and Horace Silver with contemporary trappings.

The summer movie season continues with four new movies opening in west Michigan, including the bawdy comedy Rough Night starring Scarlett Johansson, the shark thriller 47 Meters Down, starring Mandy Moore, All Eyez On Me, a bio flick on Tupac Shakur and the Pixar animated kids film Cars 3.  WGVU talks with Jenny Garone from Celebration Cinema.

The Art of Rube Goldberg exhibit is open at the Grand Rapids Art Museum through August 27, 2017. GRAM says the exhibition is "Marking the first comprehensive retrospective exhibition of Goldberg's work since 1970."
