What makes Muskegon a great (or not so great) place to live? Livability Lab wants to know

Wikipedia

In an effort to learn about the benefits and challenges of living in the county, officials on Tuesday launched another round of the Muskegon Livability Lab. It’s the second time Muskegon County officials launched a livability lab, a daylong session of community feedback from county leaders and residents that gives the county a snap shot of what makes Muskegon a great place, or not such a great place to live for area residents.

Muskegon officials first launched a similar livability lab almost a year ago in September, asking residents, What would Muskegon a more equitable place? And what are the challenges or areas of concern that residents want to see Muskegon address?

A 100-day challenge followed, where officials tried to tackle some of the issues, and implement policy changes, however,

on Tuesday, officials launched the livability lab 2.0…the reason being, according to its website, is that the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the Muskegon County landscape since last year…while Muskegon’s downtown corridor had been thriving under a new re-vitalization and resurgence, the coronavirus has brought a lot of that to a stand still…and a new set of challenges has presented itself that make living in Muskegon comfortable.

The Livability Lab 2.0 will spend the next 45 days focusing on community conditions and aligning efforts toward a common vision for Muskegon County.

County residents are encouraged to fill out surveys at livabilitylab.com and give their imput on what would make Muskegon a better place to live.
