Tuesday, September 10th at 10pm, WGVU Public Television will air FRONTLINE: Flint’s Deadly Water exposing the unreported, true toll of the Flint water crisis — and how government officials failed to stop it.

WGVU spoke with directed and filmmaker Abby Ellis, the documentary is based on two years of reporting on the ground in Flint, Michigan. Ellis and her team document an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease stemming from the water crisis that continues to claim lives in the city, five years later. The investigation shows how people were getting sick and dying from the severe form of pneumonia caused by waterborne bacteria for more than a year before the public was notified.

Patrick joined WGVU Public Media in December, 2008 after eight years of investigative reporting at Grand Rapids' WOOD-TV8 and three years at WYTV News Channel 33 in Youngstown, Ohio. As News and Public Affairs Director, Patrick manages our daily radio news operation and public interest television programming. An award-winning reporter, Patrick has won multiple Michigan Associated Press Best Reporter/Anchor awards and is a three-time Academy of Television Arts & Sciences EMMY Award winner with 14 nominations.
