In Ottawa County and Michigan’s 30th Senate District it was a four-way race between Republicans with political experience. It came down to Daniela Garcia and Roger Victory. He secured 42-percent of the vote to Garcia’s 26-percent.
Victory says staying on message with Ottawa County voters made the difference.
“They were looking, I think, for a candidate just besides a politician," Victory said. "Not a single dimension person, but someone that has some depth to them. Someone with a proven track record as a State Representative for the last six years providing good things that we did on behalf of Ottawa County, but besides the politician also a member of the business community.”
Victory will face Democrat Jeanette Schipper and Libertarian Mary Buzuma in November.
