'Spread Hope, Not Covid' campaign calls on those still not wearing a mask

Michigan.gov

Michigan on Monday launched a $5 million advertising campaign to urge people to wear a mask to fight the coronavirus, with a focus on appealing to those who believe the state’s requirement infringes on their rights.

The campaign is called the “spread hope, not COVID” message and it includes three public service announcements: As the camera shows empty performance halls, stadiums, restaurants and school halls, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she longs to see the places filled with people once again…but in order to do, everyone has to make the sacrifice, and put on a mask.

While the ads are bas based on a survey of about 2,000 resients and being funded with federal virus relief aid, Gov. Whitmer has given an executive order that requires face coverings in enclosed public spaces and crowded outdoor places where distancing cannot be consistently maintained

But some are still not getting the message.

This past weekend, a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles returned to the gate Saturday evening after a passenger refused to wear a face mask required by Delta Air Lines. The person was removed from the flight.
