There have been more than 20 homicides committed in the City of Grand Rapids and surrounding communities. Hoping to curb the number of violent crimes, Silent Observer is offering rewards for information.
The Grand Rapids Police Department and the Kent County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a number of violent crimes from homicides, shootings and armed robberies to car dealership and cell phone store burglaries.
“The crime on our streets is putting so many lives at risk.”

“There seems to be total disregard for human life by those involved in the shootings, and really this has to stop now and we have to band together to take back our streets.”
Operation Save Our Streets along with Silent Observer are asking witnesses and residents to cooperate with police sharing information.
“It’s important to know that state law protects Silent Observer tips from discovery, F.O.I.A. and subpoena so that you can be assured that those who use our many anonymous tip-lines; because we have phone, web and mobile app, so those that use those tip-lines will never, ever be identified.”
Silent Observer is offering specific reward amounts for tips that lead to arrests; $2,500 for murder, $1,500 for shooting with serious injury and gun store burglaries, $1,000 rewards for shootings with minor injury, armed robbery and car dealer and cell phone store burglaries.
