Rep. Tlaib endorses Bernie Sanders for President

non-licensed

Another member of the so-called “squad” of first-term Congresswomen is endorsing presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. nRepresentative Rashida Tlaibs ays she backed the Vermont senator after he joined her for a first-hand look at her Detroit district. Tlaib says she’s toured Michigan’s 13th Congressional District with both Sanders and his rival for progressive Democratic voters, Elizabeth Warren.

Tlaib says she believes Sanders will completely transform programs and policies she says are hurting the American public.

At a rally for Sanders in Detroit, Tlaib told the crowd the Vermont senator would be the kind of president the nation deserves – even echoing Sanders’ line from a recent primary debate…where he noted he authored the Medicare for All legislation.

“We deserve someone who writes the damn bills," Tlaib said.

Tlaib is the third of the four young Congresswomen of color who are known as “The Squad” to endorse Sanders.

The fourth member…Massachusetts Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley…has not yet committed to any primary candidate.
