Prosecutors in Michigan say the growing use of police body cameras will add time and cost to getting warrants and bringing criminal cases to trial.

Kym Worthy is the Wayne County prosecutor.

She says the city of Detroit is just one jurisdiction in her county that plans to have every officer equipped with body cameras.

"What people don’t realize is we have to examine every film that’s been used on every single officer, so this is going to add exponentially to the time it takes us to review warrants now ."

Worthy says her office alone will require millions of dollars to hire the additional legal help and buy the equipment necessary to do the job.
