Presumptive Democratic challenger Joe Biden leading President Donald Trump in statewide poll

A recent state-wide poll indicates President Donald Trump is trailing presumptive Democratic challenger Joe Biden by double digits.

Lansing-based EPIC-MRA conducted the poll in late-May and early June surveying 600 registered Michigan voters, 40% by cell phone; 43% identified as a Democrat, 38% Republican an 11% Independent.

When asked if they “have a favorable or unfavorable opinion” of the candidates, President Trump receives a favorability rate of 41% and an unfavorable of 56% compared to presumptive Democratic challenger Joe Biden’s favorability of 50% and 46% unfavorable.

The numbers track similarly when asked to rate the job Donald Trump is doing as President. He receives a 42% positive rating and a 56% negative rating.

His handling of the coronavirus pandemic received the lowest marks with 58% giving a thumbs down to 41% giving the president high marks.

The survey has a plus/minus error of 4%.
