Medical Marijuana Center open for business in Muskegon

A new medical marijuana dispensary in the City of Muskegon is now open for business, as Friday Park Place Provisionary officials cut the ribbon on the new facility and opened its doors.

The facility located at 1922 Park Street is the first State Licensed Medical Marijuana Provisioning Center in Muskegon. The inside looks similar to a typical smoke shop, with an assortment of smoking devices readily available for purchase. The difference being of course, that here pot is for sale, and it’s legal to anyone with a doctor’s prescription and a valid I.D.

The dispensary was the 9th applicant for a medical marijuana license when the state began licensing in December 2017; and was the 5th prequalified license that the state issued. Owner Greg Maki says, from that day forward, the company hit the ground running and worked to open Park Place,”

“It’s the end of a two year process, but the beginning of another,” Maki said. “It’s just been a long trip. Anything worthwhile, isn’t easy. And this wasn’t easy. But it is very rewarding.”

Maki says, the company is still in the approval process for a growing license as he plans to use the warehouse space behind the provisioning center to grow medical marijuana.

He hopes to have a second location open in Crockery Township in Ottawa County this July.
