Inman hopes to get staff and office back following hung jury and not guilty verdict

housegop.gov

Republican state Representative Larry Inman was found not guilty of one federal charge yesterday  and the jury couldn’t decide on the other two charges.

While Inman hopes to get some of his privileges back…that won’t be happening soon.

Inman is accused of trying to sell his vote on a controversial measure. The jury hung on two counts, but Inman is still under indictment.

Inman has remained a state lawmaker, but he was kicked out of his party’s caucus and the Speaker of the House took away his office and staff.

Gideon D’Assandro is a spokesman for Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield. He says texts that Inman sent -

“Are unbecoming of a state Representative and the trust that the people of Michigan put in them.”

D’Assandro says that Inman and the Speaker met, and nothing has changed.
