A 160-year old international company opens a state-of-the-art innovation center in Grand Rapids

Hutchinson’s world headquarters is located just outside Paris, France. Its first location in the United States is Grand Rapids. The automotive, aerospace and defense manufacturer employs 300 people at its 30-acre campus at 460 Fuller Avenue.

This is where Hutchinson has opened its first North American Innovation Center.

“If you want to be a leader in this industry innovation is absolutely necessary and it goes very fast. So we wanted to make sure we were well equipped and get the means to our employees to be really in a condition where innovative thinking could go well and be a part of the DNA of the company.”

That’s Hutchinson North America President & CEO Cedric Duclos. The Innovation Center preserves the history of the old storage warehouse; its bricks and wood floors while, while creating a modern space for brainstorming including robotics and touch screen technology.

Duclos explains the innovative center is about partnering with innovative customers.
