Gov. Snyder takes walk on Great Wall during China trade trip

Gov. Rick Snyder promoted opportunities in Michigan for Chinese tourists during a visit to the Great Wall in China.

Snyder's office says Monday that he also discussed shared cultural and travel attractions while taking a walk Sunday on the Great Wall at Mutianyu.

Snyder is on his fifth trade trip to China where he is meeting with government officials, industry executives and media.  He is there to make the case for Chinese companies to expand in Michigan. Snyder also is touting Michigan as a destination for Chinese tourists and trying to open doors to new markets for Michigan businesses.

The investment mission ends Saturday.

Snyder says Michigan has attracted more than $1 billion in investment from China, Japan and Korea since his first mission to Asia in 2011.
