Gilda's Laughfest: Headliners Announced

An annual festival of laughter in West Michigan is announcing top acts for its sixth season.

“We’re so excited, we just announced the talent for the first round of  this year’s laughfest, you can hear the cowbells in the background. Lots of yellow smiles.”

LaughFest festival director Joanne Roehm says the 2016 festival line up has a lot of big name talent.

“We have all the names you know and those you should know; we’ve got Kathy Griffin, Marlon Wayons, the list goes on.”

The festival honors the memory of comedian Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989. Proceeds and donations from LaughFest support free emotional health care programs offered for children and adults living with cancer and grief through Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.

“Laughfest was created to get a dialogue going about emotional healthcare, to share the message and visibility of Gilda’s club Grand Rapids and hopefully raise some proceeds and it has done that. And we’re so the community has embraced the festival that comes out to support  Gilda’s club and our emotional healthcare message.”

Ticket packages go on sale tomorrow at 9am. Seth Meyers performs March 12 during the Gilda's Club Grand Rapids Signature Event at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.  Laughfest runs March 10th through the 20th
