After a four year hiatus, Frontier Airlines has officially returned to the West Michigan market. A Frontier Airlines flight originating in Orlando, Florida landed at Gerald R. Ford International Airport Wednesday. It is one of four weekly nonstop flights to Orlando International Airport.
Next week Frontier will add three weekly nonstop flights to Fort Meyers, Florida. In early April the airline will extend four weekly nonstop departures to Denver.
In a news release the Gerald R. Ford International Airport says, “Orlando is the number one market for nonstop service out of Grand Rapids with an average of almost 200 passengers per day each way. Denver is a top-five market for GFIA.”
Airport President & CEO Jim Gill explains, “Having another low cost carrier option to stimulate competition and offer even more nonstop service is a welcome addition for our air service portfolio and our growing community.”
Frontier Airlines offers fares as low as $39 to Orlando and Fort Meyers.
