A disc golf course is being developed in the shadow of a closed coal-fired power plant in western Michigan.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports "Boom Park" will be a 10-hole course for players with beginner to intermediate skills at Muskegon's Richards Park.
Named after the Muskegon Log Booming Co. formed nearby in 1884, the course features hazards, water and hard-to-hit fairways.
Developer Don Jensen, who also owns Sweet Spot Disc Golf in Muskegon, says he hopes to have the course completed by the end of August.
Jensen says a hope is that the course will draw more people to the little-used park near the B.C. Cobb plant.
The $4,000-$5,000 project is being done without city funds.
Each hole is sponsored by a local business and lumber companies donated materials.
