Amway donates filters as part of Flint water crisis response

www.dailymotion.com

Direct-sales giant Amway Corp is donating at least $100,000 worth of water purification filters to community organizations in Flint amid the city's crisis with lead-tainted water.

MLive.com reports  the filters are going to organizations that serve children and Amway is looking for more such groups that need the systems.

Last week, Michigan-based Amway installed its filters at the YWCA of Greater Flint and the Flint office of Easter Seals. Jeff Camboia, Easter Seals Michigan's director of procurement and contract compliance, says the filters will have "a big impact."

Both organizations had been using bottle water for more than a year.

Amway Chairman Steve Van Andel says the company has been looking for ways to help in Flint and was awaiting direction from state and local officials.
