1 of 2 boys arrested after teen slain is charged as adult

One of two 15-year-old boys arrested in connection with the death of a 16-year-old whose body was found in a Grand Rapids-area park is being charged as an adult.

Police say Michael White's body was found Saturday in Lions Park in Wyoming.

Authorities say boys from Wyoming and nearby Kentwood were arrested.

Prosecutors determined the Kentwood boy will face open murder charges as an adult.

WOOD-TV says he's due back in court April 13.

The Grand Rapids Press reports court documents say he made incriminating statements on Facebook linking him to the killing and told police he stabbed and beat White.

Prosecutors say they're working to determine whether the other boy will face charges as a juvenile or adult.

The Associated Press isn't naming the boys due to their age.
