The non-profit Michigan Israel Business Accelerator group is trying to develop marketing opportunities between the state and that nation.
The group received almost a million dollars from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to help it sponsor events and trade talks.
But that funding was granted last September before Hamas attacked Israel.
Now members of the Michigan Strategic Fund have voted to suspend three trade missions to Israel planned for this year.
Instead they want Israeli officials to travel to Michigan for the marketing talks.
A typical trade mission to Israel usually includes as many as two dozen people.
