Speaking from the House floor …Upton outlined his support for bipartisan legislation on issues like immigration…infrastructure…and medical research.
“Hopefully civility and bipartisanship vs discord can rule not rue the day.”
Upton was among a handful of Republicans who crossed party lines to vote for impeaching former President Donald Trump after the January 6th insurrection.
His retirement means he won’t face Congressman Bill Huizenga in a primary race for Michigan’s new 4th Congressional District.
