What is the best way to provide the highest quality and affordable health care to Americans? That was one of the questions posed by Kent County Democrats during a town hall meeting.

The Kent County Democratic Party hosted a town hall meeting at Grand Rapids’ Fountain Street Church Wednesday evening hosted by State Representative Winnie Brinks.

She explains to WGVU how she’s been hearing from constituents concerned about the Affordable Care Act being repealed and replaced and how that could impact citizens with pre-existing conditions or losing access to essential health benefits. “Making sure that we’re protecting the access that people have gotten through those kinds of services under the ACA and doing what we can at the state level to make sure that those coverages don’t go away.”

Brinks says it’s incumbent upon Congressional leaders to work toward crafting health care legislation providing affordable and high quality care.
