Members of Gov. Rick Snyder's 21st Century Education Commission will travel the state to hear from residents and parents.
The commission's "listening tour" makes its first stop Nov. 3 at the Gerald R. Ford Academic Center in Grand Rapids.
The commission was created in March and serves as an advisory body within the governor's office.
It will analyze top performing schools and recommend changes to the state's education system.
It is chaired by Grand Valley State University President Thomas Haas and is made up of educators, business leaders and nonprofit professionals.
Haas said in a release that the commission is "excited to hear from Michigan residents and discuss solutions for making sure that every Michigan student has the opportunity to receive an outstanding education."
