A wallet that was lost eight years ago at a convention center in Grand Rapids turned up during a carpet replacement project.

The Grand Rapids Press reports Tamaryn Tobian had forgotten about the wallet, which she thought was stolen from her purse when she saw the musical "Rent" at DeVos Place in 2008.

She recently got a call from the center's security team, however, saying it was found.

The newspaper says the wallet ended up underneath a corner of the carpet at the facility's inner lobby. Tobian says the wallet was pretty much intact.

The pockets were filled with now-expired credit cards, a former work identification and faded receipts.

She says the wallet was "a little time capsule" of her life and a reminder of the past.
