Former Congressman Dave Camp of Michigan has donated materials from his time in office to the University of Michigan Bentley Historical Library.

The Republican, who served as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and was an advocate for overhauling the federal tax code, retired following 24 years in Congress after announcing in 2014 that he wouldn't seek re-election.

Camp's collection contains office records, polling data, surveys, notes, promotional materials and committee materials as well as a scrapbook of newspaper clippings, photos from his political career and digital material such as videos from Camp's YouTube channel.

The collection includes many get-well cards. Camp battled non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, underwent chemotherapy and said he was cancer-free in 2012.

The Bentley's collection includes materials from dozens of political leaders.
