Today’s the first day of ArtPrize in Grand Rapids. WGVU is taking part in the action with The Morning Show and my segments in All Things Considered coming to you live from the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
“We are in the museum store, where Art Prize 7 is slowing growing… “
Morning Show host Shelley Irwin got things started as WGVU broadcast live this morning, right in the middle of all the action of Art Prize 7.
“It’s an honor to be here as part of the WGVU Morning Show our All Things Considered this afternoon, and making a presence because it’s all about partnerships.”
Tim Eernisse, WGVU’s Development and Marketing Manager, says Art Prize and PBS couldn’t be a better fit.
“To be here, because we are home for the arts on television and all of the great things we do on radio and to express everyone’s inner art nerd. No better way to do that than to be Bob Ross, and to be Bob Ross and there’s so many artists that have been inspired by Bob Ross, some that are at Art Prize this year, trace their roots back to wanting to become an artist from Bob Ross.”
And you can express your inner nerd by taking part in the Bob Ross look a like contest… wigs and t-shirts will be available. Just ask Bob Brismin who’s already donning his Bob Ross wig and t-shirt as he sells pizza during Art Prize…
“Because Bob’s quite an artist. I’ve watched him make these incredible posters into pictures and just the way he’s come across and smooth and easy flow, the heart he puts into it, its, it’s Bob Ross.”
Festitivities for the Community Arts Celebrations get started at six. WGVU will be live throughout Art Prize which runs until October 11th.
