Holland gets toxicology company at MSU Bioeconomy building

A new lab that can run drug screening and confirmation tests for businesses, law enforcement and physicians is coming to Holland Township.

The Holland Sentinel reports

that the toxicology company Trident Labs began moving into  space at the Michigan State University Bioeconomy building in June. Lab director Matt Rycenga says the lab is waiting on some equipment before it's up and running.

Rycenga is a Hope College graduate who is one of two doctors in the lab. The other is Trident Labs medical director Dr. Peter Shireman.

Trident Labs CEO Dan Kelsey says investment in the company and lab will total about $500,000.

He says Trident already has customers across the U.S., but wants to expand locally as well.
