Rett DeBoer is a Republican precinct delegate and was the outreach co-chair in 2017. An activist for President Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016, DeBoer says her faith guides her decisions, including the decision to run for the State Senate in the 30th district.

“I’m Rett DeBoer, I live in the North Holland area in West Olive, and I have 18 grandchildren, and I am passionate about my kids," DeBoer said. "And I want to leave a legacy for them, I want to see things better for them, especially in education. I campaigned hard for President Trump, I have been endorsed by Patrick Colbeck for governor, David Agema, Tom Hooker and Right to Life. And I am a grassroots candidate, so I would thoroughly appreciate any votes I can get, so thank you very much for voting August 7th.”

Joe Haveman served six years as Ottawa County’s State Representative and chaired the Michigan House of Representatives appropriations committee. He says he was part of the “big decisions” that were made to turn Michigan’s economy around, and he is now running for State Senate to “continue the comeback.”

“Hi this is Joe Haveman. The reason I’m running for State Senator is to continue the legacy of Rick Snyder and the economic comeback that we have seen in the past eight years," Haveman said. "I was there for the tough votes, I was there for the decisions that had to be made in 2011 to bring this state back. And if you want a senator who is going to put public policy over party politics, I’m the guy. I’m going to cross the aisle, I am going to work with others, I am not going there to fight, I am going there to work. And I would like your vote.”
