Report: Ann Arbor is nation's most educated

According to a report by finance website WalletHub, Ann Arbor has earned the title of most educated city in the nation. The report released Tuesday, gave Ann Arbor an overall score of 95.09, some twenty points higher than Washington DC, which came in at second place.

To determine the score, analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. metropolitan statistical areas using nine separate metrics, with each metric graded on a 100-point scale. Researchers then took each city’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its total score and used the resulting scores to rank the metro areas. Ann Arbor took first place in the nation in total score, education attainment and quality of education.

The Grand Rapids-Wyoming area ranked nearly dead center at 73rd in the nation.
