A newcomer to politics, Lynn Afendoulis won the Republican primary in Michigan’s 73rd House district. That’s where she defeated three other party candidates. She beat her closest challenger by 25-percent of the vote.
‘I think that I didn’t know what I didn’t know when I got into this and I think I’m a little more…a little more aware and prepared for what’s ahead of me,' Afendoulis said. "This experience has been a really good one and we will take what we need to into the general and hope bring a victory home then as well.”
Afendoulis has experience as a small business owner and is a former journalist who has served on a number of community committees, commissions and foundation boards.
Her challenger in November is Democrat Bill Saxton.
