Grand Castle Apartments nearing completion as tentants begin moving in

Area residents who have dreamed of living in a castle now have a chance. After years of construction, Grand Castle Apartments in Grandville, Michigan opened its doors as new tenants began moving in. The 15-floor apartment building constructed in the shape of a castle towers over 200 feet and has over 500 units available for rent.

Roger Lucas is the Owner for Land and Company, the developer behind the Grand Castle Apartments. He said, his inspiration to build the medieval style structure came from vacationing overseas.

“I always thought castles were magnificent buildings, if you go to Europe and see them, there just fantastic, and you realize how much thought and energy went into putting those things together. I always thought it would be a fun place to live. That’s how this idea got started, and consequently that is why it’s here.”

Crews are still putting the finishing touches on a handful of remaining apartments in the castle, which is visible from the I-196 expressway in Grandville. Lucas says construction should be completed by the end of the year.
