Governor Rick Snyder toured the Grand Rapids Community College M-TEC facility on Wednesday.
The governor was there to see new equipment provided with help from a state grant.
That includes a new welding simulation lab at the M-TEC campus.
Snyder also spoke with GRCC students, and a visiting middle school summer camp.
The governor encouraged more awareness of skilled trades in the job market.
