The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is currently the second fastest growing airport in the United States.
In its 54-years serving West Michigan travelers the Gerald R. Ford International Airport has expanded physically and added service.
In recent years passenger growth has been recorded in 60 of the last 67 months. The airport says July was the seventh record breaking month in a row serving more than a quarter-million passengers. It marked a year-over-year increase in passengers of 16.7 percent.
It’s the kind of data industry publication Airline Weekly applies when it forecasts “Ford Airport as the second fastest-growing airport in the U.S. among 100 busiest airports for the Q3 summer peak.”
The continued addition of service is a driving force in passenger traffic explains Gerald R. Ford International Airport president and CEO Jim Gill, “With recent announcements like American Airlines adding nonstop service to Miami, and Frontier Airlines adding nonstop service to Phoenix Sky-Harbor, we are continuing to set records and meet the demands and needs of our traveling public. We are not done, and we expect 2018 to not only be another record-setting year but to continue that momentum into 2019.”
