Democrat Cathy Albro wins primary, will take on Justin Amash in 3rd U.S. House District in November

In Michigan’s 3rd U.S. House district Democrat Cathy Albro defeated challenger Fred Wooden. The educator and small business owner defeated Wooden by a two to one margin. A newcomer to politics, Democrat Cathy Albro will face four term Republican incumbent congressman Justin Amash in November.

“Well, it’s just starting to sink in right now," Albro said shortly after winning. "I’m going to sleep on it tonight. I’m meeting with my team tomorrow and we’re going to hit the ground running. It’s a whole new ballgame now.”

Albro says her team has a strategy for unseating the incumbent. A plan voters will receive in the coming months. Until then, we know her platform supports an all-inclusive economy, quality education-for-all and protecting the environment.
