Q: Why politics?
A: “Well, when I came into politics because I was active in the agricultural community I realized the impact it had on me specifically, but also industry-wide, and also I became more involved in the community and seen the impact a good, solid policy can have on the community and also on the district. As I got more involved I felt my voice should be heard and serving the 88th District.”
Q: Under what dire circumstance or government necessity would you be willing to support a tax increase?
A: “Well, one area, when we were looking at a critical need of infrastructure, one area was the roads. I was actively involved in the conversation of preserving that infrastructure. So sometimes when you’re looking at enhanced revenue, is it critical the need to preserve the earlier investments made by the hardworking men and women in the district.”
Q: If the election were held today, why would you – or – why would you not, vote for your party’s Presidential nominee?
A: “I’m looking forward to supporting the top of the ticket. I also look at the number two, Vice Presidential candidate, (Mike) Pence, he’s also advocating good, strong virtues.”

Q: Why politics?
A: “I have been involved in the Ottawa County Democratic party for a little while and I feel very passionately that we are not being represented in the 88th and decided just to toss my hat in.”
Q: Under what dire circumstance or government necessity would you be willing to support a tax increase?
A: “I would be willing to support a tax increase if it were to benefit the students of the state of Michigan, if we were working on infrastructure, particularly if we were hiring Michiganders to fix our roads and bridges and to build some public transportation. I believe it is time to pay people living wages, we can’t keep cutting our way to the bottom.”
Q: If the election were held today, why would you – or – why would you not, vote for your party’s Presidential nominee?
A: “I would vote for my party’s Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, because of the wealth of experience she brings to the position. Her ability to work across the aisle when she was in the Senate is very important. This country needs to heal.”
